About
I am devoted to guiding others into their truth, power, and purpose.
Paola Ucelo is a Guatemalan multidisciplinary artist, designer, and mentor devoted to guiding others into their truth, power, and purpose.
Initiated in Eastern and Earth-based traditions, she weaves somatic therapy, breathwork, movement, ritual, creative expression, and ancestral wisdom into potent spaces of healing and reclamation. Her work lives across community gatherings, 1:1 mentorship, and ALTÂR — her line of ceremonial wear and adornment — each one a different door into the same path home: to your body, your knowing, and your highest vision.
Her presence is catalytic, yet deeply human. She meets you where you are, and walks with you as you rise into who you came here to be.

Wisdom and virtue
To be virtuous is to be devoted to the practice of becoming.
One of the greatest gifts in this life was to be born into a martial arts family, establishing a foundation for a path of discipline, connection, and service. My father once said, “To be wise is to have learned and know how to shine shoes, and to be virtuous is to have shined a thousand shoes” — and this, I believe, is the path of self-mastery, fulfillment, and deep connection.
I am grateful for my teachers, for the path of the arts, the sacred, and my roots and lineage of Guatemala. I am grateful for the wisdom passed down to me, and for the example of virtue I was given to live by. And to those who have intimately walked with me — I thank you for your example and contribution.
My story
From the dojo to ceremony
The story began long before I ever knew what it would become. It started in my childhood, growing up in a martial arts studio where my father was the grand master. He didn’t just teach martial arts; he lived it. I can still remember the way he’d handcraft and sew each kimono for his students, every stitch a reflection of his devotion to the practice. It was there, in the dojo, where I first learned the profound power of dedication and discipline, the artistry of form, and the beauty of transformation.
At the same time, I was also naturally inclined toward fashion, design, and the cultivation of beauty. As I grew, life took its twists and turns, and I found myself married young to my high school sweetheart. That chapter eventually came to a close in a divorce, which, though painful, served as the catalyst for my deeper path of self-discovery. It was through the ashes of that loss that I began to reconnect to the spiritual practices that changed my life — becoming a ceremonialist, studying under indigenous teachers, and eventually rediscovering my Guatemalan roots.
It was in ceremony that I found my true calling — reclaiming my voice, my identity, and my creativity. I began to explore new mediums of expression, drawing, writing poetry, and sharing my discoveries with others. Slowly, I stepped into the role of a guide, helping others find their own path, strengthening their devotion to their visions, and empowering them to create lives rooted in purpose and meaning.
